Program Overview
URRENO’s approach to grassroots empowerment ensures structures of sustainable capacity building, well-networked partnerships and linked to local government systems to enhance effective and well-coordinated GBV/SEA Response mechanisms drawing in other service providers/GBV actors both government and non-government actors.
URRENO has extensive experience in designing gender-based violence response projects including sexual reproductive health, child protection and rights and well community-integrated response with a strong focus on sustainable community structures for implementing complaints’ lodging and referral mechanisms.
In view of its significance to development, gender equality is not perceived by the UN as just a goal in its own right but as being central to achieving all the other MDGs.
The Uganda Gender Policy, 2007, requires all government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to incorporate gender in their planning and budgeting processes.
