Project Overview

The purpose of the project is to contribute to the reduction of road crash deaths and injuries in Ugandan school-going children to more than half by 2030.

Specific objectives include; to increase road crash information around 2 schools in Kampala City for evidence-based interventions; to increase the capacity of pupils, teachers and parents of the targeted schools to demand their safe mobility rights through petitions to the authorities by December 2021

Project Activities

  • Collection and analysis of road crash data around the 2 school zones in Kampala City to generate evidence-based information to support the advocacy for speed reduction around school zones.
  • Organizing round table meetings all aimed at discussing the review of speed.
  • Mobilization and engagement of targeted schools, surrounding communities and key stakeholders.
  • Preparing and signing of a petition.
