Coalition Members trained on Media Relations.
The members of the Road Safety Coalition (ROSACU) were on the 5th and 6th of May taken through a training on media relations by a seasoned team of facilitators at the African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME).

The training was one of the activities that was to be carried out in one of their Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) funded projects. Key issues that were addressed were principles of effective writing, writing opinion articles, using social media, drafting communication plans, among others.
Tabu Butagira, the Nation Media Group Managing Editor took the team through the structure of the work flow in the media house and the persons of contact that CSOs need to keep close contact with due to the impact of their work in the media house. He further shared ideas of what is in the mind of a journalist about particular issues prior to the publication of a story.

According to ACME’s Bernard Tabaire, a good reader makes a good writer and polishing one’s writing skills definitely aids one to communicate to their audience better.
A total of nine members from the five coalition organisations were taken through this training. The organisations include: SafeWay RightWay- SWRW, Uganda Road Accident Reduction Network Organisation- URRENO, African Centre for Media Excellence- ACME, Hope for Victims of Road Traffic Accidents- HOVITA and Centre for Policy Analysis- CEPA)
